I just couldn't resist the urge to post those. After all, this is the last day of the year, so humour me, have a look and see you in 2009 ;)

Ok, so I've been doing nothing for the past week, or rather, doing what I'm really good at (almost as good as at doing nothing) but haven't had time for - watching films :p Some ideas then:
The Illusionist - This film was somehow different from everything I had watched before (I haven't watched The Prestige yet, as many compare it to The Illusionist). The film was a bit hypnotising because Edward Norton totally nailed it with his performance. And so did Paul Giamatti. The ending was something I honestly didn't expect, I loved how everything was explained, without words, but yet so clearly and beautifully.
Catch and Release - This was exactly my type of film to watch, romantic and funny and ridiculous at places, but not too lame. And I always love films with Jennifer Garner in them. Plus Timothy Olyphant, he's unbelievably gorgeous, especially in that film, playing the somewhat mysterious best friend of Gray's late fiance.
High School Musical - It was such a typical (and well, stupid) high school film that you just always knew what to expect next and I think this was what made it good. The dance numbers were good and some of the jokes were actually funny! You haven't missed anything (except maybe the extraordinary eye-colour of Zac Efron who's probably the favourite of all pre-teen girls) if you haven't seen it, but if you have, then I hope you had a laugh, because I know I did :)
Surviving Christmas - Why did I watch this one?!? Especially after realising I had seen it before?!? It was baaad, I mean the idea is pretty good, but why make it so ridiculous and over the top?!?
Journey to the Center of the Earth - It was kinda good in the don't-think-just-watch kinda way. A real documentary as L would say. I think it would have been awesome to watch in 3D. It reminded me of The Lost World, Dinotopia, National Treasure and The Mummy all at the same time. One definite drawback was Brendan Fraser, I so don't like him, whatever he does. However, the flying extinct creatures were incredibly cute :)
Dreamcatcher - Oh dear, what on earth was THAT? The film was ok just up until the aliens came and since it was the whole point of movie (I think, maybe there wasn't a point there), most of it was far from being ok. Helppp. Yes, I admit it, I watched it ONLY because Timothy Olyphant was in it, but they killed him off quite early on and after that it was just pure misery!
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - I love Webber's music and as I've probably mentioned more than once, Any Dream Will Do is one of the best songs ever written. I loved the (British) humour of this film and the absurdity of the whole plot. As much as I love Jason Donovan, I have to say that Donnie's voice is way better, though he did look somewhat ridiculous with his too white and toothy smile. But all the other characters looked even more ridiculous, so you almost didn't notice.
Mamma Mia - yes, I watched it for the second time on Thursday. It was as amazing and sunny and happy as I remembered. A really amazing film with amazing ABBA music. And then we re-watched some of the bests songs and then re-watched them once more. I think I should get it on DVD.
Australia - It was long, big in every sense, patriotic and contained a lot of cliches, but who cares when you have Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman and the magnificent Australian landscape? Did I mention Hugh Jackman? And Nullah was so cute :) And Faramir, sry, wrong movie, David Wenham/Neil Fletcher. I think it easily landed in top 10 of my favourite films :)

Advendikalender: it was, is and will be one of the best songs ever written
I can't believe I was there.
Donny Osmond+Jason Donovan+Lee Mead - the three Josephs in Webber's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Mul on endalgi juuksekummide kapriis!!!
Mina: *imestunud pilk*
T: *vaatab arusaamatuses vastu*
Mina (sellisel kahtleval toonil): Hmmmm, eeee, defitsiit?
T: ???

Advendikalender: Robbie!
And I don't know why I couldn't find this song's video without lyrics either in English or in English AND Spanish. Oh well, better more than nothing.
Oh, and, I was complaining about Let It Snow being stuck in my head just yesterday. Today I got an e-mail saying Merry Christmas from hmv.com and guess what was the song playing in the background of their season's greetings - right you are! Let It Snow...
And it's a real winter wonderland outside :)

Advendikalender: SPN drinking game
EXCELLENTLY made video, absolutely hilarious :D
Evu and me decided to try it out you know. I think it's an excellent idea. *nods*
Vott.
Haaaa, ja eile kingiti mulle viis pikka i-me-i-lu-sat tumepunast roosi. Huh, ma pole kunagi jõuludeks roose saanud.
Ja mul kummitab juba neljandat päeva Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

The last couple of days
On ju loogiline?

SPN quotes: Faith+Route 666
Sam: But if there was something there Dean, I would have seen it too. I mean, I've been seeing an awful lot lately.
Dean: Oh, excuse me, psychic wonder!
***
Dean: You ever watch daytime TV? It's terrible.
Sam: I talked to your doctor...
Dean: That fabric softener teddy bear... oooh, I'm gonna hunt that little bitch down.
***
Dean: I'm not gonna die in a hospital where the nurses aren't even hot.
***
Dean: You're not gonna let me die in peace, are you?
Sam: I'm not gonna let you die. Period.
***
Dean: You better take care of that car. Or, I swear, I'll haunt your ass.
Sam: I don't think that's funny.
Dean: Oh come on, it's a little funny.
And now Route 666, this ep has one of the best dialogue, ever.
***
Sam: By 'old friend' you mean?
Dean: Friend that's not new.
***
Sam: You mean you dated someone? For more than one night?
Dean: Am I speaking a language you're not getting here?
***
Sam: Which by the way, how does she know what we do?
[no response from Dean]
Sam: You told her. You told her the secret of our big family rule number one; we do what we do and we shut up about it! For a year and a half, I do nothing but lie to Jessica and you go out with this chick from Ohio a couple of times and you tell her everything! Dean!
Dean: Yeah. Looks like.
***
Sam: I miss conversations that don't start with "This killer truck...”!
***
Sam: So burning the body had no effect on that thing?
Dean: Sure it did. Now it's really pissed.
***
[on the phone]
Dean: Maybe? Maybe! What if you were wrong?
Sam: Huh. Honestly, that thought hadn't occurred to me.
Dean: [hangs up] It honestly didn't occur to me!
[pause]
Dean: I'm gonna kill him!
Dean: Oh, excuse me, psychic wonder!

Advendikalender: I lost my shoe
Because for some reason the puppy-eyed unhappy Sam reminded me of pg when she said on Saturday that she had got her hand stuck between the car door and the seat. And I'd say PB's reaction was about the same as Dean's :p Yeah, we're kindergarten-aged :p At least some of us.

Advendikalender: some breathtakingly beautiful Inuksuit* this time :)
*Inuksuk (plural inuksuit) is a man-made stone landmark, used by the Inuit, Inupiat, Kalaallit, Yupik, and other peoples of the Arctic region of North America, from Alaska to Greenland.
It's also the emblem of Vancouver 2010 :)
YAY!
Öö nägi siis selline välja :)

Kõik on natuke viltu...

Kodutänav.

Advendikalender: Because I'm Awesome :p
Demonstreerime: võid kah hakata advendikalendri aknakesi avama. Kuna esimene detsember on juba möödas, on täna su õnnepäev ja saad kohe tagantjärele mitme päeva eest korraga aknakese avada. Akna taga peituvad üllatused on välja valinud kas Päkapikk Arabella või Päkapikk Evu :)
1. DETSEMBER
Alustame kohe suurejooneliselt.
Täna jõudsid jõulud kohale The Circuse ja Thomas Kinkade's Christmas Cottage'i näol :))))

Alustame kohe suurejooneliselt.
Täna jõudsid jõulud kohale The Circuse ja Thomas Kinkade's Christmas Cottage'i näol :))))
SPN quotes: Scarecrow
I honestly didn't like scarecrows even BEFORE I watched this one.
Sam: So Dad is sending us to Indiana to go hunting for something before another couple vanishes?
Dean: Yahtzee!
***
Dean: I'm actually on my way to a local community college. I've got an appointment with a professor. You know, since I don't have my trusty sidekick geek boy to do all the research.
***
Dean: How'd you get here?
Sam: I... uh... stole a car.
Dean: Ha-ha-ha! That's my boy!
***
Dean: What made you change your mind?
Sam: I didn't. I still want to find dad... and you're still a pain in the ass. But Jess and mom - they're both gone. Dad is God knows where. You and me, we're all that's left. So, uh, if we're gonna see this through, we're gonna do it together.
Dean: Hold me, Sam. That was beautiful.
***
And last but not least: one of the best Dean quotes ever!
Dean: [to the scarecrow] Dude, you fugly.

Ok, Markie, you can leave the hat on (maybe).
But But But this, the beginning, is freaking STUNNING. It gives me goosebumps, who would have thought he could sing like that?!? Geeh, stop messing with my head!!! It's as if listening to a river full of silk. Just thanks to The Garden I'll bravely not mind the fact that Mark has so many leads on this album (as I honestly like his voice the least, give or take some exceptions). For some reason he reminds me of Leonard Cohen here and yes, I know it's one of the most absurd parallels I could draw here as they aren't similar in any way.
So
And the fishermen came back across the water
And the people started running in the park
And the city stopped, as I held you in my arms
We could hear the sound of sirens all around us
And the scent of burning oil was in the air
And the music played
And it felt so good to hear
The rest of the song is ok, nothing too exceptional, maybe only Jay's part
There's a stranger on the hill and he is speaking
As the tear from every cloud begin to fall
For one moment then, we understood it all
And then Mark again
Then the crowd began to head for the horizon
A million people walking back to work
But you and me, we just lay down in the garden
Yeah you and me, we just lay down in the garden
How he says THE GAARDEN with his accent. Speechless.
