Amanda Leari Enigma jälitab mind. Täna oli see laul teatris. Väga erinev, aga umbes sama hea, kui Andero tõlgenduses. Pure mind. Pure end.

SNKT best of so far

And today Koit as David Hasselhoff on a motorcycle in a leather jacket *dying whale noises* Andero as James Blunt taking his clothes off on stage and looking like a bag of kittens to be drowned any minute and making Elina Pähklimägi flustered *more dying whale noises* I just adore her reactions to all the performers.

England June 30 - July 21 2013

What I'll always remember from these three weeks:
* great people
* Harry Potter, again, I really thought I had got over it
* cream teas
* Arthur and Merlin and Tintagel and Glastonbury Tor
* sunshine and beach and ocean
* creepy seagulls!
* George Alexander Louis who decided to come to this world just a day after we left
* the night train
* the tides
* laughter and lots of giggling
* Diagon Alley - it's really real
* Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans

Exeter (June 30-July 13) - let us start from the beginning

The coolest (in more than 1 sense of the word) thing about
was definitely our outdoor classroom
which had the most amazing view ever.
The teacher's desk :)

Exeter is a city with an amazing cathedral (we went there three times without paying anything, once in the morning (we were trapped there for a minute), once for some shopping in the Cathedral store and once for Evensong where I ended up sitting in St Gabriel's chapel of all places (Hardy!), crying my heart out. Still don't know why.),

and absolutely delicious cream teas.

The old meets the new in the city centre. And there's a church in the middle of a shopping centre.

There's the river Exe,

some more of the river Exe,

some birds on the river Exe,

a swan,

and a swan (actually there were tens of them),

the Quay,

and the real-life Diagon Alley. With a Seasalt shop. I bought one of their canvas bags, I love it more than I should.

The reason that most of the pictures above don't have any people in them is obvious - I took them on my way to school in the mornings. Yes, I could actually walk to school on the river bank. And yes, it took me at least half as much time as normal. I blame it on the camera. And on all the prettiness.

The view from my window at the homestay was also pretty spectacular - a church. And then there's a pub behind the church.

The street itself looked like that. Why bother having different houses when you can have them all the same?

I went for a walk one evening. As usual, things started happening. First the pavement ended. So I turned back.

As the next thing the city also sort of ended.

And I was left with this. At 8:30 in the evening, wearing my brand new very white sandals. Down the rabbit hole I went.

And met some cows, peacefully grazing and blatantly ignoring the view over the whole city...

Another evening I went for a walk at the University campus, saw a fountain and took a blurry pic of it. To the utter bewilderment of a pair of ducks who looked at me as if I had grown two heads all of a sudden.

 Surprise, surprise, the campus also had the view.

 And was generally pretty.

 And was home to some bunnies :p

Exeter was great, but all the trips we had were even better :)

Dartmoor (July 3)

As soon as I hear the word Dartmoor, I think about the Hound of the Baskervilles. Dartmoor didn't disappoint me - here's the hound :)
 Otherwise, Dartmoor was stunning.

Even though it doesn't seem so - this slope was steep.

I kept expecting Benedict to jump out from behind every boulder, but no such luck. They probably didn't even shoot the episode there anyway.

Just a little stream.

In the middle of our nice long relaxing walk up and down very steep hills I was moaning about not having seen the wild ponies. I did see the ponies when we got back to our buses. They weren't particularly wild.

Boscastle and Tintagel (July 6)

Boscastle welcomed us with a view like that. The sea had gone to a better place for a while.

And showed its almightiness (it's a word, I swear) there.

As a rule pretty little white houses serve cream tea!

Lots of it.

When it says "Pendragon gifts" you're not in Pierrefonds but in Tintagel. Not that either of the place has any actual connection with the Pendragons anyhow. In addition to the Sorting Hat I didn't buy from Leavesden I actually should have bought a plastic Excalibur from Tintagel and should have tried to get on board of the RyanAir flight back home claiming these two are a part of my attire and not hand luggage thankyouverymuch. It would have been a perfect Merlin/Harry Potter crossover not that I'm a fan of crossovers. I'm decidedly not. Ehh, I did buy a book on Arthurian legends from Glastonbury. Let the Lady of the Lake rejoice!

 The ruins of Tintagel Castle.

Merlin's cave. Poor Merlin!

Guess what - more views over the Atlantic aka mission impossible of getting the horizon horizontal.

I came back with about a thousand photos of the ocean. And no, they aren't all the same.
