PUHKUS. JEEEEEEEEEE.

Tänane aktustepäev möödus üsna rahulikult, vihma sadas, ilm oli külm, sain hunniku roose ja piisavalt palju häid emotsioone. T lõpetamisele kahjuks ei jõudnud :(

Hommikul ootasin Jõgeva jaamas peaaegu poolteist tundi rongi.

I heart Jamie Scott :) Presenting Graffiti6, not the 80s this time

I officially chickened out... At least Ajak could use my registration payment.

Friday, 18 June 2010

It's two a.m. and I can't sleep. Which shouldn't be a surprise since I slept for two hours today from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. And this means I won't sleep at night, I've tried that before, last Friday for instance. But I just couldn't resist the temptation (read: couldn't keep my eyes open). And Ossik sort of crawled under my blanket and started purring, which was really cute. I hope Milli's ok.

I know that I have to survive the redecorating, but I honestly want to go home. It was supposed to happen today, but obviously didn't. Maybe tomorrow if the plumber comes to fit my toilet seat, but it's a big if. Hope dies last.

Someone's walking past the window along Tiigi Street, making a lot of noise. Or maybe it comes from the dorm across the street. I can't tell and standing up and going to the window would be way too much to ask. Now the noise stopped. I guess that someone either closed the window or chose another street to walk at night. Both are fine with me.

Twitter is over capacity.

I'm tired and have to be at the dentist's in 7 hours.

Falco "Rock Me Amadeus" (1986)

Johann (Hans) Hölzel (19 February 1957 – 6 February 1998), better known by his stage name Falco, was an Austrian, pop, rock and hip hop musician and had six #1 Hits - "Der Kommissar", "Rock Me Amadeus", "Jeanny", "Coming Home (Jeanny Part 2)", "Vienna Calling", "Body next to Body (with Brigitte Nielsen) and "The Spirit never dies (Jeanny final)". With "Rock Me Amadeus" he is the first and so far only artist to score a #1 Hit in the U.S. with a German language song. His estate has sold 40 million albums and 20 million singles to date, which makes him one of the best selling Austrian singers ever. (Source: Wikipedia)

Put up your hand if you DON'T recognise the chorus!

Katrina and the Waves "Walking On Sunshine" (1985)

Katrina and the Waves were a pop rock band formed in the 1980s, best known for their hit "Walking on Sunshine" and their 1997 Eurovision Song Contest victory with the song "Love Shine a Light". (Source: Wikipedia)

For some reason I do remember their Eurovision song. Could it have been the same year when one of my favourite Eurovision songs ever, Alltid Sommer, was on as well? No it isn't the same year (I just had a valid reason to listen to Lars Fredriksen once again), Alltid Sommer was a year later.

As for Walking on Sunshine, then I just needed something sunny into this weather that, at best, reminds me of September if not early October with unusually green leaves. Scarf is a must. Especially since I still have an occasionally sore throat. Precisely "occasionally" because on some days it's sore and on others it's not but since it's been a month, I actually don't notice the sore throat any more. Plus, the dentist hurt and I have to go again first thing Friday morning. I'm whining, I know, but I'm sick and tired of this year and being so bloody scared and the incredible mess in my flat that I can do nothing about right now and the fact that I have to ask for help and depend on somebody else and feel guilty slash bad about it. Etc etc etc. So, Walking on Sunshine it is :)

New Kinds on the Block "You Got It (The Right Stuff)" (1988)

New Kids on the Block is an American boy band assembled in 1984 that enjoyed success in the late 1980s and early 1990s and went on to sell 80 million records worldwide. After having disbanded in 1994, several attempts were made to get the group back together, all of them unsuccessful. After secretly reuniting in 2007 and recording a new CD, the group released that new album and embarked on a concert tour in 2008. The album, entitled The Block was released on September 2, 2008. (Source: Wikipedia)

My first penfriend was obsessed with NKOTB :p Can't say I know anything about their new stuff. And I don't think I want to.

Brainmelt continues (and is contagious)

Men At work "Down Under" (1981)

Men at Work are an Australian rock band who achieved international success in the 1980s. They are the only Australian artists to have a #1 album and single simultaneously in the US (with Business as Usual and "Down Under" respectively). At the same time, they also had a simultaneous #1 single and album in the UK. The group won the 1983 Grammy Award for Best New Artist and sold over 30 million albums worldwide. (Source: Wikipedia)

I've never actually thought that they say "down under" :D It doesn't sound like it very much, does it?

The lyrics FunFunFun, let's put the stress where we like it.

Travelling in a fried-out combie
On a hippie trail, head full of zombie
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous
She took me in and gave me breakfast
And she said,

Do you come from a land down under?
Where women glow and men plunder?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover.

Buying bread from a man in brussels
He was six foot four and full of muscles
I said, do you speak-a my language?
He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich
And he said,

I come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover.

Lying in a den in bombay
With a slack jaw, and not much to say
I said to the man, are you trying to tempt me
Because I come from the land of plenty?
And he said,

Oh! Do you come from a land down under? (oh yeah yeah)
Where women glow and men plunder?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover.

I adore the beginning and the first two lines, it's absolutely brilliant and very summery for some reason (forever that reason might be, it's definitely NOT the meaning). And the video - the part starting from 1:37, just lol. Welcome to randomness.

Simon Cowell Time also known as SCT

OMG OMG :D I've just realised that the abbreviation "aka" comes from "also known as". ROFL. I'm good.

Major brainmelt
on the way.

Teadupärast oli L täna kodus kõva häälega teatanud "Pane uks kinni, hiired tulevad sisse!"

Kõnealused hiired osutusid tegelikkuses sääskedeks.

Dialoogid

Küsija: Mis su kassi nimi oligi?
Mina, ilma mõtlemata: Nelli. Või see tähendab Milli. Mitte Nelli.

Mina, lausa hüüatades: See ju sulab ära!

Reede hommikupoolikul kavatsen ma palju kasulikke asju ära teha. Vähemalt plaan on hea.

Haaa, I watched the season finale of Castle and Skinner was there! I mean, not Skinner but Mitch Pileggi, obviously. But the casting was fabulous, since the episode dealt with a game gone bad, before the viewers knew it was a game, Skinner, sry Hans, was supposed to be some kind of secret agent/government official or who knows what and of course, every person who has seen even a little bit of The X-Files would automatically think Skinner was an agent and not an ordinary person from the street with enough money to buy himself a costly spy-game entertainment. I bet you understood what I meant :p Clear as crystal. Anyway, it was Skinnneerr! Muuuuch older, but still the same. Otherwise, Castle rocked. Now all three of my TV series are on a long hiatus, so let the summer commence! I'm not even sure which season finale I liked the most - SPN was a bit painful, beautiful but painful (ok, who am I kidding, a BIT painful?!?) and Castle was somewhat predictable, though the murder and the investigation were extremely cool. And it was really cool that Beckett dumped the guy, whatever his name was. Out of the three I might have to choose The Vampire Diaries (plus the show has/had Julian Sark from Alias aka David Anders). Now that Damon can't quite decide whether he's good or bad and starts to be a tad vulnerable, things might get interesting. Besides, it's the most extremely impossible to hate a villain like him. But the ending sure was unexpected...

Some of Salvatore goodness :)

I'm just so incredibly impossibly tired right now. And I can't even get some sleep right now. I need a vocation and I'm tired of decisions, tired even before I've made a single one. And my throats hurts like a bitch, yes hurts, it's not sore any more. It was sore on Friday and has been getting worse ever since. It's just one of those days that nothing goes the way you want. Thank god vh1 is playing Mika right now.

Tulin just Liblikapüüdja 20. sünnipäevalt.
