Kuidas oleks juunis Lenny Kravitzi kontserdiga?

Ma arvan, et 27 on ilus number. Seegi hea.

You just gotta love IMDb, I found out that I just finished watching a movie where, according to IMDb trivia the word "fuck" and its variants were used 278 times (38 times with the prefix "mother"). I sort of noticed, but didn't have time to count. It seems that someone did. The film was Jarhead by the way. I think I should watch something less stupid and less violent right now, something that is less full of blind American patriotism. I wouldn't recommend the film.

His blue eyes were mesmerising though.

Viimasel ajal kuuluvad vaadatud filmide hulka ka My Blueberry Nights, Cold Mountain, Elizabethtown, Jumper, Awake, Sweeney Todd, I'm Not There, October Sky, Proof, Donnie Darko, Bubble Boy, The Good Girl ja The Day After Tomorrow. Kui juba filmidest rääkida, siis I'm Not There kummitab mind ikka veel. Murtud lubadus sedakorda. The Good Girl mulle ausalt ei meeldinud, lisaks kandsid nad seal täiesti elukoledaid riideid. The Day After Tomorrow oli väga ettearvatav ja oleks eriefektide poolest kindlasti olnud parem kinos kui DVD pealt, aga pole midagi teha, kui ma õigel ajal kinno ei jõudnud. Oh jah, ja ka The Day After Tomorrows oli ju matemaatikageeniuse teema sees. Läbivad teemad - matemaatika ja alliteratsioon - Bubble Boy, Donnie Darko, The Good Girl, Moonlight Mile.

The obsession continues.

Why don't I do the things I have to do?!? I hate it.

Donnie: I made a new friend today.
Dr. Lilian Thurman: Real or imaginary?
Donnie: Imaginary.
***
Catherine: It doesn't fit me.
[about the dress]
Hal: Sure it does.
Catherine: You can't prove it.
Hal: I can disprove the opposite.
***
J.D.: [showing the other students the museum] I couldn't let you guys leave New York without seeing the Natural History Museum.
Sam Hall: [under his breath] Of course not, it's the world's finest collection of stuffed animals.
***
Homer: Man, we should be trying to get into that science fair instead of sitting around here like a bunch of hillbillies.
Roy Lee: Well, I got some real sad news for you Homer. We *are* a bunch of hillbillies.
***
[Ennis enters the grocery store where Alma works]
Ennis Del Mar: Hey, Monroe. Is Alma here?
Monroe: Uh, yeah, she's in the condiments aisle.
Ennis Del Mar: The what?
Monroe: Uh - ketchup.
[points]
Ennis Del Mar: Thanks.
***
Robert Graysmith: I just want to help.
Ken Narlow: What are you, some kind of boy scout?
Robert Graysmith: Eagle Scout, actually... First class.
***
Justine: Whatcha readin'?
Holden: Catcher in the Rye... I'm named after it.
Justine: What's your name?
[Holden stares at her blankly]
Justine: Catcher?
***
Catherine: She was born in Paris in 1776.
Hal: Then I definitely never met her.
***
Gretchen: My mom had to get a restraining order against my stepdad. He has emotional problems.
Donnie: Oh, I have those too! What kind of emotional problems does your dad have?
Gretchen: He stabbed my mom four times in the chest.
Donnie: Oh.
***
Hal: You read a lot of maths.
Catherine: I read Cosmo. It is just a window dressing.
***
Paul Avery: Jesus Herald Christ on rubber crutches Bobby! What are you doing? You're doing that thing again. That thing we discussed... starts with an L...
Robert Graysmith: Oh looming.
***
Jack Hall: [on Sam failing calculus] I'm not angry. I'm disappointed.
Sam Hall: Do you wanna hear my side of it?
Jack Hall: Sam, how can there be two sides?
Sam Hall: Hey, look, I got every question right on the final and the only reason Mr. Spengler failed me was because I didn't write out the solutions.
Jack Hall: Why not?
Sam Hall: I do them in my head.
Jack Hall: Did you tell him that?
Sam Hall: I did. He said he didn't believe me. He said that if he couldn't do them in my head then I must be cheating.
Jack Hall: Well, that's ridiculous! How can he fail you for being smarter than he is?
Sam Hall: That's what I said.
Jack Hall: [smirks] You did? How'd he take it?
Sam Hall: He flunked me, remember?
***
Homer: No. Coal mining may be your life, but it's not mine. I'm never going down there again. I wanna go into space.
***
D.I. Fitch: [to a whole squad of Marines] You are no longer black, or brown, or yellow, or red! You are now green! You are light green! Or dark green! Do you understand?
All Marines: Sir, yes, sir!
D.I. Fitch: Swofford!
Anthony 'Swoff' Swofford: Sir, yes, sir!
D.I. Fitch: You the maggot whose father served in Vietnam?
Anthony 'Swoff' Swofford: Sir, yes, sir!
D.I. Fitch: Outstanding! Did he have the balls to die there?
Anthony 'Swoff' Swofford: Sir, no, sir!
D.I. Fitch: Too f**king bad! He ever talk about it?
Anthony 'Swoff' Swofford: Sir, only once, sir!
D.I. Fitch: Good! Then he wasn't lying!
***
Hal: Well, I'm gonna be late. Some friends of mine are in this band. They're playing in a bar on Diversey, way down the bill, they go on about 2 to 2:30. I said I'd be there.
Catherine: Great.
Hal: They're all in the math deparment, they're really good. They have this song called 'i', you'd like it. Like lower-cased i. They just stand there and don't play anything for three minutes.
Catherine: Imaginary number.
Hal: It's a math joke... You see why they're way down on the bill.
Catherine: That's a long way to drive to see some nerds in a band.
Hal: You know, I hate when people say that. It's not really that long of a drive.
Catherine: So, they are nerds.
Hal: Oh, they're raging geeks. But they're geeks who, you know, can dress themselves and hold down a job at a major university. Some of them have switched from glasses to contacts. They, uh, play sports, they play in a band, they get laid suprisingly often... So, it makes you kinda question the whole set of terms. Geek, nerd, wonk, dilbert, paste eater...
Catherine: You're in this band, aren't you.
Hal: Ok, yes. I play the drums. You wanna come? I never sing, I swear to God.
***
Ennis Del Mar: Jack fuckin' Twist.
***
D.I. Fitch: What the fuck are you even doing here?
Anthony 'Swoff' Swofford: Sir, I got lost on the way to college, sir.
***
Robert Graysmith: It's ok... Avery has a gun.
***
Jack Twist: Friend, that's more words than you've spoke in the past two weeks.
Ennis Del Mar: Hell, that's the most I've spoke in a year.
***
Douglas Freeman: This is my first torture.
***
Robert Graysmith: I've been thinking...
Paul Avery: Oh God, save us all.
***
Holden: I'm staring to think... That you don't get me.
Justine: MAYBE I *don't* get you.
Holden: YOU DO. YOU DO GET ME, YOU JUST DON'T WANNA GET ME BECAUSE I AM TOO INTENSIFIED FOR YOU.
***
Gretchen: You're weird.
Donnie: Sorry.
Gretchen: No, that was a compliment.
***
Jack Twist: Why is it always so friggin' cold? We oughta go south where it's warm, you know, we oughta go to Mexico!
Ennis Del Mar: Mexico? Hell Jack, you know me, about all the travelin' I ever done is round a coffee pot lookin' for the handle.
***
Donnie: My parents didn't get me what I wanted for Christmas.
Dr. Lilian Thurman: What did you want?
Donnie: Hungry Hungry Hippos.
Dr. Lilian Thurman: And how did you feel, being denied these hungry, hungry hippos?
Donnie: Regret.
***
Robert Graysmith: Does anybody ever call me names?
Paul Avery: You mean like 'retard'?
Robert Graysmith: Yeah.
Paul Avery: No.
***
Dr. Lilian Thurman: What did Roberta Sparrow say to you?
Donnie: She said, "Every living creature on earth dies alone."

Pool veerandit on läbi, juhhuuu!!!

Tegin enne poodi minemist ostunimekirja? TEGIN. Aga no võib-olla mu mälu petab mind :s Mitte et see nüüd ülepea väga oluline oleks :s No igatahes on Jake'st kuidagi märkamatult saanud üke mu lemmiknäitlejaid.

Aktusele järgnenud pidu oli ka üle ootuste lahe :) Muidu suutsin nädalavahetuse jooksul lisaks Eurovisioonile ära vaadata ka filmid 10 Things I Hate About You, Candy ja The Knight's Tale.

Kahjuks. Ma lootsin sellelt kursuselt nii palju...

Me uus/vana külmkapp teeb täiesti pöörast traktorihäält.

Bryani uut laulu oled kuulnud?

Uus väljakutse on kas My Take või Mees, kes teadis ussisõnu. Nüüd on sellest saanud reegel mitte erand.

Miks, see on pikk jutt :s

Nüüd on mul kapis lisaks:
must pikk pluus 1 tk
pruun pitsidega pluus 1 tk
pruun pintsak 1 tk
must jakk 1 tk
halli-sinisetriibuline pikkade varrukatega T-särk 1 tk
lilla vest 1 tk

Pluss veel eilsed saapad :s huhhhh....

Pierres on lihtsalt mõnus istuda, sinna minekuks ei pea julgust koguma ;) Võtame ehk järjekordselt plaani?

Jiipppiiii! Ja täna jõudis kohale Gary Barlow My Take! On, mida lugeda (näiteks Potteri asemel).

Üldiselt on olnud üks übernärviline päev. KreisiKreisi.

Muuhulgas üritasin välja valida, millised digipildid ma paberkandjale teen. Mission impossible.

EDIT: Ma just avastasin, et mulle niiiii väga meeldib, kuidas Darren laulab kahte rida laulust I Like the Way

"Because I like the way you move in the daaaarhhhhk
I like the tension, the tension and the spaaaaarhhhhk"

Just neid kahte rida :D

Muideks, Bryanil tuleb märtsis uus album välja, pealkirjaga 11. Minu sünnipäevakink on seega olemas :) Ja ma suutsin vahepeal välja selgitada, et Bryan ei rääkinud sugugi mitte kõigil oma kontsertidel kassipissisest keldrist Vancouveris ja sellest, kuidas muusika maailma ühendab, see oli säänne uitmõte ainult Tallinnas :)

Friday, 11 January 2008

Over and out.

Tuesday, 8 January 2008

Käisime eile ööraamatukogus tšillimas. Ehh, võid jah mind imelikult vaadata, aga VÄGA hea oli õppivate tudengite seas mittemidagi teha või õigemini suletud kohviku ukse taga istuda, niisama mula ajada, pilte teha ja muusikat kuulata. Pealegi on seal päris kobe netiühendus!

No väga ülerahvastatud see koridor just polnud...

After the longish convo of last night I actually managed to think up at least a couple of things that are quite good. After those dark first days of the new year even neutral things seem positive today. It's a start alright, the start of trying to sort things out. It's not like I don't know what makes me happy, it's more about all of the things that don't make me happy, which I seem to be quite incapable of sorting out. And so I just let all those things hurt me all the time. I don't want to go home crying. I don't want to be so tired all the time that I honestly don't feel like doing anything at all. I don't want to... I don't want to write on I guess.

The first post of the new year

Ohh, I did buy that I Love Toronto beanie bear. I also watched through all my Toronto pics, searched for the Sonic Boom Music store website and had quite a few cups of Tim Hortons'. Yes, I just love torturing myself :( And I managed to convince Vi that she should go and buy me that lovely Gap V-neck. After all, it's pretty obvious that she has a lot of room in her suitcases when she comes back from Toronto. At least then it'll be on this side of the ocean... But still on the other side of the Channel though :s

Again, I'm in the middle of something I'd rather not be in the middle of. I'm just crossing fingers that the situation will calm down on its own and I won't have to start explaining why communicating with someone only because this someone knows someone else is not such a nice thing to do. And I even don't know whether this is really the case or whether it's just an exaggeration. And what I really can't understand is how and why I fit in the picture, because for some reason I'm not being ignored, but I definitely don't know this particular someone else. I don't know who to listen to any more. The worst thing being that this mess could end up being a lot more confusing than the stupid situation in July. But when I think back, then talking a lot and trying to understand at certain times and just shutting up at other times actually worked and I sort of managed to come out of it without openly taking anyone's side. I just read this paragraph through once again and now I'm feeling that I'm quite twofaced :s

It honestly feels that some aspects of this beautiful world are going crazy. The Karen Bishko thing was absolutely ridiculous and went way too far. Thinking up a Dear Karen letter was very cruel and childish and not fair at all. I completely agree that it could be called bullying. The new appreciation thread isn't such a good idea either, it'll probably go out of hand as well, it's just a matter of time. In the meantime I'll hide in the world of Mika. It seems safe and colourful there. And I definitely should not get that involved. It's insane.

What is more, someone succeeded in making me doubt a thing I hadn't doubted before. Or rather somehow opened up a possibility for doubt. Some things are still very certain, but there's also something else. And I'd lie if I said that I hadn't thought about that before, I had, but maybe not with such clarity.

I wonder whether I myself will understand the things I have been writing about today in, let's say, a year's time... I don't care.

Ja no kõige lõppu tahtsin öelda, et me tahtsime täna minna sushit sööma ja see sdkfbisyrdghfbsd restoran Kaks oli reserveeritud!!!! Yes, I'm very aware that there isn't a swear filter here, but I just don't like swearing, generally, except on some days like this. On some days like this it would actually be in bloom, all flower poppy!

Sunday, 30 December 2007

I would have never thought the last post of last year will turn this year completely upside down. During some glorious moments the world really seemed beautiful. So the post deserves to be repeated here:

Ma pole siia tõesti enam ammu midagi uut postitanud, aga aasta lõpetuseks tahtsin jah vot seda öelda :) Sõnumist olulisemad on sõnumi edastajad :)

Over the past week

I've managed to switch day and night completely. I went to sleep at 2, then at 3, then at 4 and then at 5 a.m. I wonder which time it will be today.
I've been to a shop with a leaking roof. It was a lot of fun!!! They had to evacuate all the candies, if they don't have enough storage space, I'd be happy to store all the sweets here, in my home for instance.
I've almost bought a dark blue I Love Toronto beanie bear. I could resist the temptation then, but who knows for how long.
I've almost cried more than twice because I want to go back to Toronto so badly. Watching all my pics didn't help a bit, it only made matters worse.
I've downloaded Google Earth only to go and see Toronto downtown. And Hiiumaa. Ok, I did have a peak at London and the Tower Bridge as well.
I've almost chosen some plane tickets. Now I have something to look forward to, something hopefully warm and sunny.
I've increased my post count to more than a thousand and I even didn't realise which one was the thousandth, because we were in the middle of a highly engaging 'shrooms conversation.
I've remembered the peace pipe smoking/suicidal Indian joke again. I can be incredibly dumb!
I've been almost barlowed. And this is the very last thing I need right now. So I fled. But I can't get him out of my mind.
I've seen an iPhone irl and ooooh, I soooo want one!
I've decided that Nickelback is absolutely fabulous. I decided that before I realised they were from Alberta. So much about trying to forget that country.
I've created myself a MySpace page, but I'm not sure I'll finish it.
I've bought way too many cds off eBay. But I strongly believe I desperately need them. Each one of them, including the ones I didn't win.
I've been to a birthday party and eaten too much. She was 92.
I've googled for concerts in Oslo. Backstreet Boys is coming :D
I've called somebody a whore by accident in a language I don't speak. I felt bad about that.
I've started to read HP, but couldn't read more than 30 pages. My concentration problems didn't go away at the end of August, I think they've only got worse.
I've become addicted to Boyzone's A Different Beat. A VERY unlikely choice, but I just couldn't help it for some reason.
I've watched the whole of the first season of Heroes. I absolutely love Peter Petrelli. And I promised to find dr. Suresh (still looking for him).
I've walked my dog at midnight and then at two a.m., more than once. She's still my favourite doggie, no matter what.
I've decided that the next suitcase I buy will have flowers and mushrooms on it. Just for the fun of it.

Well, holidays just don't make me do reasonable stuff.

As for this year, then it was the craziest I've had so far...

Crunchy cream is delicious.

White Maltesers are delicious.

Tim Horton's French Vanilla is delicious.

Why can't I live in a country where they'd actually sell all those things?!?!

Üllatus, üllatus, ma olen jälle liiga palju šokolaadi söönud.

Miks lubadust "ma lähen varem magama" nii raske täita on? On vabatahtlikke? Mida on ülepea muusikal kaaluga pistmist?!?! Yes, I'm almost converted, but I'll never completely like his 90s hairstyle, so that's why only "almost", I forgot all about it when he was on stage though, maybe that's why I took better pics of him than of Jase.

Ma oleksin olnud rohkem aega lennukis kui koha peal (bloody work).

Jõuludeni on neli nädalat.

Since I wrote it some days ago....

...not to post here, but it can go here as well.

Take That Beautiful World Tour 2007 – Zurich 27/10, Aalborg 9/11, and 10/11

So I went to three concerts. I would have never thought I’d do such a thing, as I wasn’t a crazy fan first time around, but it just happened… I did like them a lot back in the 90s, but as I was too young to go abroad to concerts on my own anyway, I think it was for the best that I even didn’t wish to go. But I sure am glad that something “cracked” in my head about a year ago when I first heard the Beautiful World album and saw An Audience With, because in addition to very positive emotions from the concerts I’ve also met some wonderful fellow Thatters and it’s not just about TT any more, it’s also about friendship.

Anyway, we bought tickets for the 9th in Aalborg, Denmark in February, as it was the very first one to be announced and the tickets sold out in minutes. Zurich and the extra one in Aalborg were just a bonus. We decided to go to Zurich somewhere in September, but as for the second Aalborg one, the idea came only when we were already in Aalborg and realised it was not sold out. We didn’t queue up in Zurich and ended somewhere in the 10th to 15th row (it was partly standing). We did queue up for three hours in November cold in Aalborg on both dates and got 4th and 2nd rows respectively, as both dates were basically only standing. After all that standing and waiting I was quite surprised that I didn’t feel like fainting or anything (it might have been the fact that we were pretty high on chocolate) as quite a few people fainted and security guards were busy diving into the audience and carrying people out.

The concerts were amazing. That probably sums it all up (so if you don’t feel like reading on, you just got the main idea in a nutshell).

It all started out with a bit of a shock in Aalborg as we found out that Howard won’t be performing as he was in hospital, but he sent a lovely video message and the other three did their best on stage. Only Mark looked a bit tired and forgot to start with his dance moves during Pray, but after he had realised it, his expression was just priceless. Howard was on stage in Aalborg, only singing and not dancing, but just his presence made the concerts a lot more special. Gary said that the audience on the first date in Aalborg was one of the loudest ones on the tour so far and he was probably right as I can’t remember people doing so much noise in Zurich.

They started with Reach Out from their last year’s album Beautiful World and went on to the old hit It Only Takes a Minute, which included a lot of dance moves and some pole dancing from Jason in Zurich. Jason skipped it in Aalborg, hopefully only because of Howard being on stage and not fit for it and not because Jay was injured as well, enough of injuries! The next three songs were a bit slower – the first single from the BW album, Patience, one of my favourites, then Hold On and then their absolutely beautiful third single from BW, I’d Wait for Life. Then came Relight My Fire with Jason’s boot, Mark’s hat and Gary’s arm all on fire, trying to heat things up even more and they did succeed in it brilliantly.

Then fire turned into mist and they started with the most spectacular performance of the night – their latest single Rule the World from the soundtrack of the movie Stardust. The lighting effects were spectacular, turning the whole room into a magical world of fallen stars, and the four appeared from the heavenly blue smoke wearing long coats and looking even more stunning than ever (if that’s possible). Amidst the twinkling stars and amazing green beams they crossed the bridge to the B stage, where some sing-along from their first album was followed by a fabulous Howard and Gary duet Could it be Magic and then Back for Good, everyone in the audience singing along as loud as they could. Then they returned to the main stage for a perfect Jason moment, as he stayed on stage all alone, bare-footed, closed his eyes and sang Wooden Boat, the last track on the BW album and the first song ever sung by him alone. Wooden Boat was followed by Give Good Feeling which undoubtedly would have been more spectacular had Howard been able to come on stage and dance, but was excellent nevertheless, and then Sure, so familiar from the 90s.

Never Forget – one of the best moments of the whole show with “neeeeever” *clap* “forget where you’ve come here from, neeeeever” *clap* “pretend that it’s all real...” really united the audience once again after the awe and unity created by RTW had been broken by GGF and Sure. It was excellent to hear the familiar voice of Howard’s singing Neeehveh.... and seeing the glorious moments of history being shown on stage, moments that we never forget. After Howard had shined in Never forget it was Mark’s turn to shine in Shine and he really did, in the middle of all the glamour and the dancers he demonstrated what he was capable of. Then it was the time for the last song – Pray, where the three of them showed their best dance moves, including Gary, closing the concert with a positive we’re back for good feeling :)

Crazy craziness aka Aalborg

So, we were there. For a bit longer than planned at first, but things just happened.

What a lovely view from our hotel room window (and the rain has stopped)!

And some more of Aalborg, or: we on our quest to find the train station (find us in the picture).

There were some more beautiful houses as well (like the train station itself).

And a nice yellow house and a nice yellow bus.

Oh, and a nice red house as well.

Okey, okey, the pointless town had its little merits, like very quiet Sunday mornings...

...and, during that particular weekend, them.

But before them it was WAITING WAITING AND WAITING. A LOT OF WAITING. And pointless musings. Hmm, not all the lights have had an easy life.

It's about to start, any minute, NOW.

There was SOME confetti (everywhere, including the hotel room afterwards).

And there was some fire, boots and hats on fire.

And some mist, magical Stardust mist.

And some lights, not to mention those two.

Some first class moves.

And hooded men.

The ultimate Howard moment ;) Very Ultimate.

And, last but not least, thanks PB, you almost killed me with THAT pic.

On a more lively note, chocolate survives anything, even two flights, two concerts and a looong train journey. And, most importantly, it doesn't even matter what it looks like, as long as it tastes the same ;)
